Get out of the audience and onto the stage! Your standing ovation is waiting for you. At Camp Shakespeare you’ll be immersed in a week of acting, stage combat, movement/dance, line-learning, voice training, and technical theatre taught by ASF theatre professionals. Rehearsals culminate in a Shakespearean performance at week’s end on the Octagon stage! Your role is waiting—don’t miss your call!

Camp Shakespeare Extreme
Place: Alabama Shakespeare Festival
Dates: July 28 – August 1, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (Grades 7-12)
Cost: $300

CS-X is for advanced middle and high school students who are prepared to dig deeper into their characters, add more complexity to their movement, and investigate what the Bard put between his lines. Your new found experience will show when you perform a Shakespearean piece at week’s end. Join ASF’s professional staff who will strive to motivate you to achieve new levels of theatrical expertise.

Broadway South: ASF Musical Theatre Camp
Place: Alabama Shakespeare Festival
Dates: June 9-13, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Cost: $300

New York and Broadway’s most talented actors, singers and dancers perform on the ASF stage. Now, you can, too. Learn voice, choreography and acting skills taught by acclaimed ASF pros during an intensive week of lessons and rehearsals. You’ll be working through the week just like a Broadway actor—only faster—and ultimately performing in a mini musical on the ASF stage.

Weekend Warrior: Introduction to Stage Combat
Place: Alabama Shakespeare Festival
Dates: July 25 (6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.) & 26 (10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
Cost: $200

Are you the next action hero or want to learn how to act like one? Work with a professional fight choreographer and learn the moves and techniques of the masters in this true weekend warrior opportunity. You’ll be instructed in the finer points of hand to hand combat as well as how to wield rapiers and daggers using real stage combat weapons. Nobody gets hurt—it just looks like they do.

Teen Summer Shakespeare Intensive (T.S.S.I)
Place: University of Alabama-Birmingham, Alys Stephens Center
Dates: June 16-20, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. (Grades 7-12)
Cost: $200
